ANKYRA – 3D SKELETAL ANCHOR SYSTEM FOR ORTHODONTICS

ANKYRA 3D has been designed in such a way that the orthodontist can apply forces with effects in the 3 planes of space, achieving any planned therapeutic objective. It comes in different sizes to suit both inter-root and extra-alveolar needs.

VERSATILITY OF THE ANKYRA-3D ANCHORING SYSTEM

The ANKYRA 3D system has been designed with two supports (hooks) for the application of vertical or horizontal forces; springs, ligatures or chains can be adapted in the neck and additionally it has two slots; one in the bracket type head and another in the base of the head for the adaptation of rectangular wires.

INTERRADICULAR ANCHORS

Those anchors placed between the roots of the teeth. They can be placed buccally and palatally in the upper jaw and buccally and lingually in the mandible. In edentulous patients they can also be placed on the alveolar ridge.

EXTRA-ALVEOLAR ANCHORS

Anchors that will be placed on bone surfaces external to the alveolar processes. Generally located in the horizontal and vertical buttresses of the face.

ANKYRA 3D 1.5 x 8 mm is indicated for both upper and lower inter-radicular surfaces.

Designed with a flat head, a single neck, and an auxiliary hole to accommodate 0.017 x 0.025 mm wires. Recommended for interradicular zones and in the anterior teeth areas where a lower profile head is required to protect the mucosa.
